Building capable people, organizations and enterprises

MoroAcademy, formerly SEED Initiative and established in 2017, helps people, organizations and enterprises in the Bangsamoro build the competencies their work needs, and the systems that keep good practice going.

Our mission. Transforming the Bangsamoro through Knowledge and Technology.

We work with government offices, non-government and people's organizations, associations, cooperatives, social enterprises and small businesses, and with individuals building skills for their work, a new job or their own business. We are based in Cotabato City and work across BARMM.

Who we are

SEED Initiative was established in 2017. Since then we have facilitated strategic planning for BARMM ministries, offices, and agencies (MOAs), trained cooperatives in different parts of BARMM, and run leadership, management, governance, and entrepreneurship courses for emerging Bangsamoro leaders and changemakers.

We took the name MoroAcademy with the same purpose and a renewed commitment to serving the Bangsamoro. We deliver training and support in person, and our online platform gives clients course information, registration, learning resources and support between engagements.

From SEED Initiative to MoroAcademy

Free trainings. We bring training to cooperatives and communities at no cost.

Since 2022 we have held free community workshops for cooperatives and community-based organizations in Maguindanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur, including farmers' cooperatives. Managers can continue with specialized training and technical assistance, so that their cooperatives become operational, compliant, viable, sustainable and competitive.

The gap we address

Training changes the work only when people can apply it, the organization supports it, and the method stays after the course. Each of our services closes one part of that gap.

Training

The challenge

Staff return from a course without a structured way to apply what they learned.

Participants practise on their own tasks and leave with an application plan agreed with their supervisor, followed up at work.

Consultancy

The challenge

Plans, structures and processes often do not match the work an office is expected to deliver.

We facilitate planning, organization, policy and monitoring with your staff, who decide and own the result.

Guidebooks and manuals

The challenge

When experienced staff move on, the way the work is done often leaves with them.

Guidebooks with worked examples, and manuals written with your staff, keep the method for the next person.

Online platform

The challenge

Support often stops when the session ends, and distance or cost keeps many people from taking part.

Online courses, registration and learning resources stay within reach between sessions, wherever people are.

How we create added value

  • Start with people and their work. We understand the actual task, responsibilities and conditions before choosing content or technology.

    See capacity building
  • Look at people and systems together. Staff capability matters, and so do work standards, supervision, resources and processes.

    See organizational development
  • Plan for application. Preparation before a course and support after it are part of the service, not extras.

    How training works
  • Create with the people involved. Staff, supervisors, HR and decision-makers help shape the result, and so do the people who will maintain it.

    See planning with your teams
  • Keep support within reach. We consider the full cost of taking part, including travel, time and connectivity, and match the way we deliver to each client's needs and budget.

    Browse online courses
  • Build for continued use. Every engagement makes clear who owns the result and what is needed to keep it working.
